Mandela Day Project 2021

“One hand can feed another” is the theme for Mandela Day 2021. In the midst of all that is happening in the world and in South Africa, choosing to make a positive contribution in some else’s life can inspire change.

DataDot Technology SA along with our employees, associate, and subsidiary companies; Ishishini Lethu, VehicleFacts and MotoData came together to raise money towards food parcels as a contribution towards assisting in alleviating poverty and hopefully making a difference to those in destitute. We came together to contribute towards families in George and two Non-profit Companies, Rays of Hope and Oasis of Givers.

Rays of Hope – The heart of Alexandra is one of the non-profit companies (NPC) that we donated towards food parcels to help feed the community of Alexandra in Gauteng. They have partnered with the community for 30 years and live by their Mission Statement “Building mutually transforming relationships to realise individual potential, creating opportunities for development to independence.”

Oasis of Givers NPC situated in Klerksdorp, North West provides assistance to the elderly in the community by providing them with blankets, clothing and food. Their first project was a Christmas lunch in 2020 for the elderly, cakes on their birthdays and special gifts for special occasions when they are able to. Oasis of Givers soon after started the Soup Project in the effort to maximise their involvement with the elderly in the fight against poverty in the community.

In addition, food and toiletry parcels were packaged and donated by our DataDot Employees in George for the families faced with difficulties in Borchards, Parkdene, Ballotsview and Conville. This will hopefully make a difference.

“What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.” – Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela

Thank you to all our Employees for their generous contributions towards Rays of Hope, Oasis of Givers and the families in George.
